At Optima Specialty Hospital, our commitment to excellent and compassionate care begins even before each patient is admitted. We understand that the process of seeking and beginning inpatient and outpatient treatment can be intimidating, so we have designed our admissions process to be as smooth and helpful as possible.
At Optima, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a safe place for individuals to find stability and healing. We welcome adults aged 18 and older with psychiatric disorders who are at risk of harming themselves or others or are experiencing severe impairment in their ability to function as a result of symptoms of mental illness. We provide care for a number of different mental health disorders, some of which include:
- Depressive disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizoaffective disorder
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
We also are able to treat people with primary mental health disorders and co-occurring substance abuse. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide care for people with severe intellectual disabilities.
Our admissions process begins with a call to our hospital’s admissions department or by coming to our hospital directly. In placing a call to Optima, you will be connected with a knowledgeable member of our clinical team who can answer any questions you or your loved one may have about our mental health and co-occurring substance abuse treatment services. During this phone call you can also set up an appointment to come to Optima Specialty Hospital for an initial psychiatric screening to assess your or your loved one’s needs and so we can recommend an appropriate level of care.
If inpatient hospitalization is recommended, we admit patients right away. If a prospective patient would be better served by outpatient care, either in our partial hospitalization program (PHP) or our intensive outpatient program (IOP), we will then send the individual’s information to our outpatient referral department so we can match the individual with the proper level of care needed.
We know that the need for psychiatric care can arise at any time, day or night, so our admissions department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for initial screening appointments.
If you or your loved one is struggling with the symptoms of mental illness and would benefit from inpatient or outpatient treatment at Optima Specialty Hospital, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to provide the care that can enable you or your loved one to live a brighter tomorrow.
